US judge closes court to hear stripper death case

DETROIT (AP) — A federal judge in Detroit has closed his court to consider issues in a civil suit tied to a stripper’s shooting death.

Judge Gerald Rosen says he’ll make any decisions public Tuesday.

The family of Tamara Greene says ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and others stifled a probe of her death, which remains unsolved seven years later.

There are several requests to stop depositions, including one by Kilpatrick’s wife Carlita.

Greene family lawyer Norman Yatooma also wants to interview lawyer Brooke Jordan, who once worked for Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox.

Yatooma says Jordan might have information on the state investigation of a possible wild party at the Detroit mayoral mansion in 2002. Cox has called the party an “urban legend.”
