Action News fights to keep Tamara Greene case public
DETROIT (WXYZ) – – Action News is asking a federal judge to keep the Tamara Greene case open to the public.
The family of the murdered stripper is suing several current and former Detroit officials, alleging they interfered with the investigation into Greene’s death. Much of the lawsuit has been conducted under seal, and at a recent court hearing, the judge asked reporters to leave the courtroom for everything but his rulings.
Our attorney is asking that the judge recognize the public importance of this case, and to avoid conducting the case in secret.
The Detroit News is joining WXYZ-TV in the request. The attorney for the Detroit Free Press has made a similar request, which the judge has formally admitted onto the record in the case.
